Job Description Job Description /n Develops, plans, coordinates,
implements and evaluates the educational and staff development
programs for Patient Care Services and /or facility. Directs and
supervises the activities and staff of the department. /n Job
Responsibilities /n 1.Directs Nursing orientation and staff
development to validate and enhance competence of clinical staff.
/n 2.Supports implementation and utilization of clinical nursing
research. /n 3.Incorporates System and institutional values, goals
and objectives into various educational programs presented to staff
in alignment with the System dashboard. /n 4.Directs the
development and implementation of continuing education programs in
Nursing. /n 5.Directs the planning and implementation of education
programs which will validate and enhance professional and ancillary
competence. /n 6.Educates and markets the roles and
responsibilities of nursing to a variety of audiences in the lay
and professional community. /n 7.Evaluates program outcomes and
makes modifications as needed. /n 8.Organizes nurse educators to
meet the educational needs of the nursing staff using the nursing
department organizational plan and current developments in the
institution and System. /n 9.Chairs the facility Nurse Educator
Council. /n 10.Collaborates with nursing leadership, nursing staff
and other disciplines to organize Nursing Education, Quality
Improvement and Research programs. /n 11.Participates in Nursing
Quality Improvement activities. Promotes interdisciplinary
collaboration. /n 12.Promotes the use by colleges and universities
of the facilities for clinical education and fosters good
relationship between hospital and their educational institutions.
/n 13.Networks to establish Hospital as a pre-eminent source of
professional education, healthcare information and patient care
delivery. /n 14.Evaluates program/student placement effectiveness
on an ongoing basis. /n 15.Responsible for the total annual budget
for nursing education services. /n 16.Analyzes expenses and
operations, implements cost effective alternatives which promote
quality improvement. /n 17.Participates in the development of
institutional and departmental goals and objectives. /n 18.Selects,
develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; oversees the
selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect
reports. /n 19.Performs related duties as required. All

/n Job Qualifications /n • Master's Degree in Nursing or related
field, required. /n • Current License to practice as a Registered
Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut required,
plus specialized certifications as needed. /n • 8-12 years of
technical experience and 7 years of leadership / management
experience, required. /n *Additional Salary Detail /n The salary
