Manager - Neurosurgery Job Description Lead and manage the
operations of the neurosurgery unit, providing 24/7 leadership and
accountability. Support nursing leadership in aligning strategic
goals with organizational mission, vision, and values. Foster a
professional and healing environment that promotes patient and
family-centered care. Responsibilities Communicate objectives
clearly, build consensus, and guide the team toward achieving
departmental goals. Foster a healing environment that promotes
patient and family-centered care. Create a professional workplace
that encourages respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal
outcomes. Champion evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate
practices. Manage staffing needs for the unit and collaborate with
HR on recruitment and requirements. Offer guidance and direction to
team members and supervisors. Oversee performance evaluations,
promotions, compensation decisions, and corrective actions. Serve
as a role model for clinical, educational, and leadership
standards. Assist team members with career development planning.
Educate staff on new and existing departmental procedures and
systems, including technology and fiscal responsibilities. Manage
the unit’s budget, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective
actions for variances. Track and analyze performance metrics to
drive continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to established care
delivery models and professional practice standards. Maintain
compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational
policies. Demonstrate current clinical knowledge relevant to the
patient population served. Stay informed on healthcare legislation,
standards of practice, and population health trends. Identify and
lead initiatives to improve operations using evidence-based
strategies. Essential Skills 6–8 years of Neurosurgery nursing
experience. 2–5 years in a leadership or management role. Active
Registered Nurse license in New York State. Bachelor of Science in
Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 2 years of
Operating Room experience. Relevant specialty certifications as
applicable. Additional Skills & Qualifications CNOR certification
preferred. Experience in cardiac surgery, thoracic transplant, and
scheduling coordination. Experience in nursing and chart review.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of
Manhasset, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is
