This role involves both direct patient care and coordination of oncology services. The NP will collaborate with oncologists, nurses, Resident, fellows and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care, and optimize clinical outcomesQualificationsRequired:

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of New Jersey
• Current RN and NP licensure in the state of New JerseyPreferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in oncology nursing
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP)Scheduling Requirements
    • Monday- Friday, Full Time
    • 8:30am - 4:30pm with some late nights
    • occasional weekend coverageEssential Functions
      • Patient Care: - Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical histories, physical conditions, and symptoms. - Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. - Manage and monitor treatment plans, including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical interventions. - Provide follow-up care and manage side effects of treatments. - Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative agreements. - Offer counseling and education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care.
      • Collaboration and Coordination: - Work closely with oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. - Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences. - Coordinate referrals to other specialists and supportive services as needed.
      • Patient Education and Support: - Educate patients and their families about the disease process, treatment plans, and expected outcomes. - Provide emotional support and guidance throughout the treatment journey. - Develop and implement patient education materials and programs.
      • Clinical Documentation: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system. - Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatments, and follow-ups.
      • Billing: - Adhere to the system s process to properly document, and drop charges after each patient visit.
      • Research and Professional Development: - Stay current with the latest research and advancements in gynecologic oncology. - Participate in clinical research projects and quality improvement initiatives. - Attend continuing education sessions and professional conferences to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
