Concrete Field Testing Technician US-PA-Douglassville Job ID: 2025-2803 Type: Regular Full-Time of Openings: 4 Category: Contracting Structures Division Overview The Structures Division of H&K Group, Inc. is currently seeking a NECEPT certified concrete field testing technician Grade 1, primarily responsible for testing concrete at various job locations to ensure quality standards and specification are met. The ideal candidate is safety conscious, self motivated and experienced. This position supports bridge and related structural heavy civil and highway construction projects throughout Northeast PA and the Lehigh Valley. Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? - Competitive salary commensurate with experience - 100% Company-paid Health Benefits - Health Savings Account available - 401(k) Savings and Investment Plan - Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs - Additional training opportunities including on the job, online through the H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies. - Follow and assure compliance with quality control plans - Sample and test materials following standard practices and quality plans - Maintain test records and assure compliance with company and agency specifications - Maintain a clean, organized work environment - Read and follow H&K Group employee handbook protocol and procedures - Calibrate and maintain test equipment to standards - Establish and maintain lines of communication with concrete plant operations, agency representatives and quality control supervision - Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills, Education, and Experience - Strong work ethic and organizational skills - NECEPT and ACI certified - Able to work in a team or independently as needed - Time management - Valid driver's license - Reliable transportation - Ability to meet standards of PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission and other recognized authorities - Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed - Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience - High School diploma or equivalent (such as GED) from an accredited educational institution - Previous experience working with concrete materials - NECEPT certification - Basic knowledge of heavy civil and highway construction Physical Demands - Frequently required to: - Use hands and arms to finger, handle, reach, and feel - Talk and hear - Stand, walk, and climb - Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds - Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, or crawl - Specific vision requirements include distance, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Work Environment - Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions - Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts - Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles - Noise level is usually moderate H&K’s Structures Division key difference is our customized, value engineered approach to your project.
