Full time, 37.5 hours/weekFLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly--Outreach

report.--Summary: GED Instructor Duties:--Acts as an instructor for
the Outreach GED ProgramKeeps accurate records and files; assesses,
advises, coaches, monitors and follows up with participants who are
transitioning from prison GED instructionTeaches GED classes at the
7th Avenue Center and/or Lackawanna County Prison; prepares outline
of instruction; delivers classroom presentations in Language
Arts/English, Math, Science and/or History.Participates in Skyview
Afterschool programming, offering assistance to students grades
1-6, providing homework assistance and support for any and all
STEAM/STEM activities.Prepares general correspondence, training
materials, certificates, and other program materials using MS
Office software; tracks participant dataResponsible for collection
of program/agency data and entering data into tracking sheets and
the agency's databasesAssists grant process by reviewing documents
for accuracy, providing data/input when appropriate, and attending
meetings upon requestInitiate and follow up on all internal,
external, and self-referrals, including completing necessary
documentation and coordinating internally or with outside agencies
(as needed)Performs intakes and places participants into classes as
neededMaintains organized file systems; assists with photocopying,
supply orders, answering phones, and similar team
operationsParticipates in community and agency-wide meetings/teams;
occasional local travel for training purposesEvening/weekend work
may be required.------------------Must operate under the guidelines
of Outreach, Skyview, and Lackawanna County Prison. Performs other
duties as assigned.Attendance is mandatoryRequirements--GED
Instructor Qualifications:The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

functions.--Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 4
years related experience and training; or equivalent combination
thereof; Helpful experience and/or background includes human
services and/or math teaching experience, working with prison
population and individuals transitioning to community from prison;
familiarity with court system.----Computer Skills:To perform this
job successfully, an individual will need to acquire working
knowledge of agency database, MS Office software and Internet
software. Ability to type 40 wpm; strong computer aptitude
required.----Certificates and Licenses: * Must have, or meet the
requirements to obtain, current ACT 33 (Child Abuse) & 34
(Criminal--Background) Clearances.* Must be able to obtain
additional clearances as required.* Must have a valid driver's
license.* Must annually complete all training hours required by
Outreach and/or accreditations.Supervisory Responsibilities:This
job has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.--Work
Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderate. Traveling in a high-crime/low-income area is often
necessary. Local, regional and occasional long-distance travel
required. The ability to work within a prison environment and with
a prison population is required. Position is in Lackawanna County;
an easy commute from Wilkes Barre, Hazleton, Bloomsburg, and
Stroudsburg.Physical Demands:The employee must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally transporting
supplies/materials.--Compensation details: 20 Hourly
