Tuckernuck is seeking a dynamic and detail-obsessed Technical
Designer to join our New York-based Design Team with a focus on our
Sport & Casual vertical. This role is essential in bringing our
product vision to life combining performance, versatility, and
style with an emphasis on fit, function, and our signature brand
aesthetic. The ideal candidate is fluent in garment construction,
thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, is comfortable
working on multiple seasons at a time, and is excited to help scale
and refine our growing Sport & Casual assortment. You will serve as
a key liaison between design, product development, and production,
ensuring that every style fits flawlessly and meets Tuckernucks
quality and brand standards. This position will report to the
Senior Technical Designer. Core Responsibilities Partner closely
with designers and product developers to interpret seasonal
concepts into technically sound, production-ready garments for the
Sport & Casual category. Participate in fit sessions by providing
clear fit notes, communicate pattern corrections, and guide vendors
through revision rounds with precision and timeliness. Own and
maintain tech packs including specs, construction details, and
graded measurements in coordination with design and development.
Collaborate with global vendors to resolve construction issues,
troubleshoot fit challenges, and ensure samples meet all quality
and aesthetic expectations. Evaluate wear testing feedback and
integrate functional improvements into future designs. Monitor
consistency across the category ensuring silhouette, fabric, and
fit align with Tuckernuck's standards. Support factory onboarding
and maintain relationships with vendors through clear communication
and accountability. Stay up to date on innovative techniques,
materials, and best practices in technical performance and casual
wear construction. Responsible for organizing fit samples by
marking all incoming samples as received, communicating with
production on fit priority and setting up fit rack accordingly
Measuring in fit samples prior to fittings and summarizing overall
specs Minimum Qualifications At least 5 years of experience as a
Technical Designer, or a similar role Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expert knowledge of pattern making, grading, and garment
construction for woven and knit apparel. Proficiency in Adobe
Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM systems, and technical sketching.
Strong understanding of fabric performance, stretch, and movement
specific to casual and sport styles. Excellent communication,
collaboration, and vendor management skills. Highly organized,
detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple timelines. A
passion for Tuckernucks aesthetic and a drive to contribute to a
growing brand in an entrepreneurial environment. Compensation
Compensation for the role will be determined based on the
candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. The estimated
annual compensation for this role is $90,000-$115,000; classified
as full-time exempt and not eligible for overtime. At Tuckernuck,
