Title: Solutions Architect / Solutions Engineer

Position: Contract - Hire

LOCATION: NY

Visa: Citizen, Green Card

Length: 6th Month

Local candidates, onsite.

Candidates must have recent investment banking or heavy financial exp.

Visa Status: US Citizen, Green Card, EAD 2 years left on EAD

Contract to hire, 6 month contract to conversion

Mode of interview: First round technical phone screen followed with face to face or video.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our clients presents multiple, unique opportunities for a Solutions Engineer to join a team responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for planning , design and implementation of key, high priority initiatives across the entire enterprise

Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their frameworks.

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation; Write functional

requirements/specifications documents which are used as reference architectures by Engineering and

Operational staff.

Responsible to create and maintain regulatory compliance documentation.

Effectively understand & communicate strategic and global data network initiatives and infrastructure

Respond to internal and external audit requests, inspections and address regulatory network compliance issues.

Provide Level 3 (engineering) support for network systems

Operational Readiness: includes creating and executing test plans, checkouts and working with Network and

Operations Engineers to ensure operational soundness of production networks.

Ensure networks adhere to predefined architectural and security standards and leverage industry best practices

Responsible to review new Engineering designs ensuring consistent network strategies are employed across

network teams

Responsible to create network risk logs and manage remediation plans.

Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors.

Write functional requirements/specifications documents

Requirements

Should have in depth knowledge of Multicast routing protocols and methodologies within a financial environment.

Knowledge of advanced WAN Virtualization technologies such as MPLS/VRF and related services, including

multicast VRF (MVPN).

Comprehensive Knowledge of the OSI model

Must have strong documentation skills.

Must be well versed in a multi-vendor technologies and solutions

Must work well in a team environment

Skills

Previous experience in the financial industry and low latency network environments.

Experience of Optical networks including DWDM

Understanding of network Monitoring strategies and tools

Understanding of security needs and best practices

High level understanding of common operating systems (Linux/Windows) and their interaction with network

components.

Experience with scripting language such as PERL, Python, TCL

Qualifications

Bachelor degree preferred in technology or related field experience

JNCIP

6+ years of relevant experience
